Where Did They Film the Dock Scenes?

When Pelagia (Penélope Cruz) meets Madras (Christian Bale) on the wooden dock, a playful scene unfolds. Madras grabs Pelagia and throws her into the water, then jumps in after her. This memorable scene was filmed at the secluded Horgota beach, located in the northeastern part of the island of Kefalonia, Greece. It’s approximately a 45-minute drive from the town of Sami.

The jetty was specially constructed for the film and remained in place for several years after the production wrapped up. Sadly, over time, it has been dismantled, and the wooden structure is no longer there. However, a visit to Horgota beach is still worth your while, as the natural beauty of the place remains intact.
