Where did they film the Dreaming of the Paris Cafe scene?

The cafe where Cobb and Ariadne are sitting, while objects around them are being blown into pieces, is located at the corner of rue César Franck and rue Bouchut in Paris, France.

The cafe from the movie “Inception” is called Cafe “Debussy,” which was temporarily transformed for the movie. It has since changed into an Italian restaurant called Il Russo. Although it doesn’t look the same as Debussy, the restaurant maintains a unique Parisian charm.

Cobb explains to Ariadne how dreams work

Ariadne (Ellen Page) and Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) are sitting at a Cafe in Paris. Cobb educates Ariadne on how dreams can be created and controlled. He enlists her help to create the dream world and make subjects believe it’s real. Ariadne is skeptical about crafting a world with such detail that a person could be fooled by it. Then Cobb explains that dreams always feel real and we only notice something strange when we wake up. When Ariadne fails to recall how they got to the cafe, she realizes they’re in a dream, leading to everything around them exploding into fragments.
