“A sinner comes before you, Cersei of House Lannister. Mother to His Grace, King Tommen, widow of His Grace, King Robert. She has committed the acts of falsehood and fornication. She has confessed her sins, and begged for forgiveness. To demonstrate her repentance, she will cast aside all pride, all artifice, and present herself as the gods made her… to you, the good people of this city. She comes before you with a solemn heart, shorn of secrets, naked before the eyes of gods and men, to make her walk of atonement.”

Where did they film Cersei’s walk of shame scenes?

The famous walk of shame, known in the story as Cersei’s walk of atonement, took place in more than one location. We will focus on the key areas as some parts were short and not precisely identifiable. All of these sections were filmed in the Old Town of Dubrovnik, Croatia.

The Baroque Staircase to the Church of St. Ignatius

The most prominent part of Cersei’s walk begins at the baroque staircase, leading from Gundulic Square to where the Church of St. Ignatius and the Collegium Ragusinum are located.

After the High Sparrow’s speech, Cersei is stripped of her clothes and forced to start walking down the stairs and then to the Ulica uz Jezuite (street) in the direction of the Gundulic Square.

St. Dominic Street

Next, the walk of atonement leads to St. Dominic Street (Ulica svetog Dominika) by the Dominican Monastery, situated in the northeast part of the old town. This location has also been used for several other scenes, such as when Tyrion Lannister observes a protester speaking about him.

Revelin Bridge

Cersei’s walk of atonement concludes at the Red Keep’s gate, where the guards are waiting for her. To portray the Red Keep’s gate, filmmakers chose the Revelin Bridge which is not far away from east entrance to the Old Town of Dubrovnik, known as the Ploče Gate.

The scene filmed at Alcázar palace in Seville:

Cersei Lannister’s walk of shame through the alleys of King’s Landing
(Season 5, Episode 10 “Mother’s Mercy”)

Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) is subjected to a walk of shame, a public humiliation imposed by the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce), leader of the religious group known as the Faith Militant. Having gained significant influence in King’s Landing, the High Sparrow enforces a strict moral code, and as punishment for Cersei’s confession of adultery, she is made to walk naked through the streets. Stripped of clothing and with her hair cut short, she is escorted by Septa Unella (Hannah Waddingham), who rings a bell, repeatedly intoning the word “Shame.” The crowd’s response is mixed, with some onlookers jeering while others simply watch. The walk is both physically and emotionally grueling, leaving Cersei bloodied and grimy by the time she reaches the Red Keep, where she is received by a member of the Kingsguard and draped in a blanket.
