The winding path with stairs that lead up to the Dragonstone castle connects a small island with the mainland. This island is called Gaztelugatxe and it’s located near Bilbao, Spain.

About Gaztelugatxe

The path with stairs leads to the top of the island to a small church called San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. Accessible by a narrow path with 231 steps, the church dates back to the 10th century and was used as a hermitage. Offerings from sailors who survived shipwrecks are found in the hermitage. There’s a legend that says you should ring the church bell three times when you climb the stairs, symbolizing a protection ritual. Near the church, a shelter protects against winds and weather.
